timing chain ?

Iv been taking my motor apart and noticed that the crank gear is a little loose, my question is how loose should it be? I know im not suppose to compare it to a small block chevy, but the small blocks that i have built has always been tight, i have to tap them on, this just falls right on and i can wiggle it, if i had to guess i would say there is about .005/.01 play after its on. thanks for any help.

It should slide right on and off, but you should be able to feel basically no rotational play.

When the balancer goes on and gets torqued to spec (over 200) it won't move anymore.
