Timing chain

In your situation I'd only change it if you were pulling the front cover anyway. I pulled mine on an almost 60k engine and I thought it looked pretty good. (pic attached) These chains have lived in cars with much higher miles. You could always pull the oil pan to see any of those nylon teeth are laying in the bottom. If you see any I'd change it. If your car lived those 14k miles a 1/4 at a time like Vin Diesel lives his life then it may be in bad shape. Otherwise I'd personally wait.

Thanks for the input. My car has had an easy life, no mods, no trips down the quarter mile.
I've never even done a burnout. So I'm not going to change the chain.
I remember the one on the 85 had some plastic missing off the sprocket but the engine ran fine.

If you do the work yourself, a timing chain swap is about the same price as a wrecker bill.

I'd change it (or at least the top gear) and switch over to the roller cam button and neoprene front seal.
