I have a double roller timing chain installed and as i was test fitting the timing cover on i noticed a slight side to side wobble. after further inspection i realized that a small piece of aluminum attached to the cam sensor hole inside the cover was hitting the chain.

How important is this piece and is it ok to trim it down to clear the chain?

All measurements were in MM but you get the idea of the differences involved.

Thanks

Hey Evil, I just sent you an email with a pic. as I ran into the same problem and what I did to fix it. Doesn't take much. Mike

Got your email Mike. That's exactly what i was thinking of doing. I just wanted some input.

The pics look great.

Thanks

He just ground the said piece down so as to not hit the chain.

When i do mine i'll put up a before and after picture.
