timing cover

I just pulled appart the original engine on my 87 gn with 196k milles that has never been appart and actually still ran good- decided to retire the old block and install new one that's on stereoids .:biggrin: Question I have is timing cover has wear from the cam button -about 5 thousands -what is exeptable ?should I weld it to fill in the hole or there is other ways to fix it ..? thanks

That amount of wear is normal and acceptable. Your good to go. No need to try and fill it.

Make sure & use the updated roller bearing & not the stock Plastic one you pulled out.

Make sure & use the updated roller bearing & not the stock Plastic one you pulled out.

And sand/mill the wear spot flat so the new roller will have a flat surface to ride on.
