i just installed a new comp 212/212 roller and went to install the timing set that came with it and it feels really loose. When i try the other true roller that was in it before it fits nice, did i get a bad timing gear set or is there something i am missing?

Your block has probably been line bored. This brings the two centerlines (crank/cam) closer together. You can get bigger gears to take up the slack.

Call Webber racing. His link is on the home page. He'll tell you what you need to do which is take a few mesurements and he will send you what you need. i needed a .010 under.
