Tips for racing on street tires

I wouldn't try it. I've got 285/18's on the back for street tires, and it was awful. Had to get in and out of the gas at least 3 times. Still spinning in 3rd at half track. All over the place. don't risk it. Just get some DR's. I put Et Street DR's on my car and they're fine for me, and hook like hell. I had no idea what this car felt like in 1st or 2nd gear until recently. Although they are on 15's..28x10.50x15.
 
I personally think they should have a street tire class no drag radials. Just to see and level the grounds a little. Look what they are doing on a 9in and 10.5 drag radials. Just to see what can be done. Crazy but could be cool to.

18 in wheels really are not going to hook well anyways. Just not enough side wall like u get from a 15 or 16. Not saying u can't hook but big power 15 to 18 in. 15 will win
