I am getting a new set of wheels, finally!!! What tire size is best for a 17 x 9 inch wheel? I was going for 235/55 in front and 255/55 in rear. I live in NYC, the roads here are in bad shape, thus I think the need for a taller tire. Would these fit? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out the brakes, suspension, tires and wheels forum. Lotsa good info there. Be sure your rear tires are as close as possible to 26" diameter or your gear ratio will change. I run 315x35x17 on 17x10 Boyds wheels. Not quite stock looking though and our streets are probably a little smoother than yours.

I run a 245/45 on a 17 x 8 front, and a 275/40 on a 17 x 10 rear.
I would go on "tirerack.com" and plug in the tire sizes to get specs on tire width, height, and recommended wheel width.
