Title Question for the CA Crowd

Hi everyone,

I'm in NC and met this guy who just moved here from CA. He has a car trailer he is trying to sell and I know titles can be tricky. Is there anything I need to know about CA trailers? Do I have to worry about anything blocking the title transfer such as unpaid taxes, does the title need to be notarized, etc.? The trailer currently has a permanent CA tag on it so I assume the guy registered it properly but I just don't want to run into any surprises.

Trailers get permanent tags like he has, he should also have a title for it that he can sign over to you, CA doesn't require it to be notarized. I would get a bill of sale along with the title.

Thanks, he does have the title. I always get a little nervous when dealing with titles and the DMV.
