Thanks to X-Rays thread in the GNX forum I was able to use a few internet contacts I have to make making my emblems easier. Prior to this I was going to clay them, make a mold, then cast them in resin. There was one slight hiccup though, his foil guys are used to making printing dies so they cast it backwards, lol. They are correcting th eproblem as we speak, should be done today.

Corrected version:

I will be doing the dash plaque as well, TNX 001 same method, my buddy is cleaning up my sketch in Photoshop this week.

Wish I had more updates, but between vacation and work my schedule has been full.

That sir is beyond cool! Cute kids as well!!

Thanks and thanks, a Wal Mart clerk actually said to me, "They must look like their mother," last week, WTF?? haha :D

Those two kids are the main reason this car is taking so long, or so I tell people. :p

Some things must take priority over others....Next time you get that "they must like the mother" just smile and say "true, but I'm just not sure who the real mother is"....

In her mind I'm sure it was witty, in my mind it was "things you don't say to customers." But they do look like their Mom.

I have been paitently waiting for the thread you post saying its together.

The dash plaque is a good idea, we got a guy in our club with a GNX clone that has this on his dash,

That's cool. I'm hoping when people see Project TNX that they are like, "A TNX, what the heck is a TNX?" and that upon closer examination they only get bewildered more, LOL.

2 hard days of work and she's wrapped up and ready to paint. Expect some nice progress pics later this week or Monday. I've been slow on the pics because of the little messes I have laying around. A parts pile here, a parts pile there, here a part, there a part, everywhere a part part.....;)

Sad thing is, that car started out a 1984 T-type. He now has an 87 drivetrain in it but last year he did not. He was parked next to a real GNX (#344) and when people came by looking at them, they would point to the clone and say it was the real one and walk away. Even with a hotair motor sitting in it. :o

Yeah, owning one of these cars is a riot, someone is always telling you something wrong about your car, it's even worse when it's "just a T-type."

Stupidity used to drive me nuts, now I laugh about it. LAst fall at Charlotte AutoFair: these 2 Bubbas were looking inside a GN, noticed the laptop computer setup (for the FAST system) and wnodered out loud "what the heck is that?" My response: "Oh, that's one of those secret FBI models right there" And the two morons fell for it hook....line....and sinker!

(oh yeah: gorgeous wife also!!)

I had two "auto mechanics" almost get in a fight with each other about my GN. After they told me I didnt know anything about my car they went at it with each other. One was convinced the car came with two turbos which the other agreed. The difference, one thought the car came with twin turbos while the other thought it came with a single turbo but the other turbo was on the transmission. Then they told me I ruined the car by getting rid of the lightning rod shifters and putting a V6 in it.

Thankfully I was just getting gas and not letting them anywhere near the car.

That is one for the record books, I would have been laughing my a** off.

Welp, the good ones came in, I started grinding it out today, got as far as I could with a grinder and the fact that it's just me and the kids today (the wife went to the beach). But she took the camera so I can't post how they look right now but I just have to cut the piece in half, grind that edge down and clean up the X and I'm done the metal work. I have to have 2 studs welded to the one for the grill, but the other one will be finished this week and I'll post the pics.

Welp, I remembered we had an older camera, I managed to snag one crappy pic from it before the batteries died.

Thats pretty dumb. I used to be pretty dumb too. I remember seeing a GN drive by one day and thinking to myself "That car sounds like crap must be a little V6 in it" Of course this was like 2 or 3 years ago and didnt know squat about these cars. Im also not a mechanic.

I was so taken back by that "argument" I was speechless. Dont get me wrong, I was laughing on the inside but all I wanted to do was get my car out there before they could get close enough to touch it.

This is the badge, I have to touch it up, just wanted to clean up the outside edge first so I didn't have to remove too much paint at once. I'm going to let it dry all day (no touching it) and then repaint the letters, touch up the black, let it dry for 3-5 days and then clear coat it.

**Keep in mind this is the first stage of paint, all that black you see in the letters will be gone, the silver metal line will be crisper before I clear coat it as well.
