To Have or not to have the TV cable hooked up?

When racing is it a must to have the TV cable hooked up?

Please forgive me if this may sound like a $tupid question.

Unless you have a manual valve body that does not require it to be hooked up, it should be there and properly adjusted at all times. Pressure rise control for the entire trans.
