Hello I'm currently in a debate regarding my GN. I currently have no 3rd, 4th, and reverse. I don't have any other car so I still drive my GN in 2nd around town. I just keep it slow and watch the RPMs on the scanmaster. I would like to get one of the high end PTS trans, but unless I find a good job it can be another year or two before I can afford the few thousand to get a new PTS trans and get it put in. I found the rebuild kit from PTS. I can afford that within the next month. I want to save for the new Trans instead of rebuilding something that may break again. What would you all do? I am leaning towards just getting the rebuild kit cause I really need a reliable ride so I can find a job outside town. My mods are in my sig. A PTS deluxe rebuild kit should hold up right? By the way what is the upgrade to alto Wide band with the kit and should I get that as well? Thank you in advance for your help.
 
Yes the pan was dropped a couple months ago. There was quite a bit of metal shavings or clutch material in the fluid.

Yea Dr. I would love a daily driver but I do not want to roll the dice on a 1K or under beater daily driver. Got burned too many times. It would prob take a year to get 2-3 K saved up unless I find a good job. Even then though that car could have problems too and I end up spending the same amount of money that I would have replacing the trans in the GN. Givin my situation of lack of money and need to have some type of reliable car so I can broaden my job hunting distance I am still leaning towards rebuilding the trans unless someone talks me out of it. Still keep the opinions coming they are appreciated.

friend w/a spare trans he could loan you? Have you tried the junkyard for a spare while your rebuilding yours? At the very least, it would have all the gears even if it didn't have the proper shift points.:confused:
