 Hello group...I am new to this forum and I would like to say hello to everyone.I have just aquired an 84 gn that needed some serious help!Did a rebuild of motor(bearing noise)all new injectors(36lb),holley adjustable regulator,cam,lifters,rockers,100lb springs, and so forth.
My problem is too much fuel???regulator is set at 35psi ,no check engine light and she runs like ?><?+.! I tried adjusting cam sensor...no good. After one week oil was completely contaminated w/fuel.I do not want to waste the bearings already!!!!
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks.

Do you have a scan tool to check your o2s and blms. Is the fuel reg set with the vac line off or does it not have one on that holley, If it is set with the vac line on at 35 you might be to high any way.

Check your injector wires to make sure there on good or it will flood your cyl like mine did.

Chip , make sure its the right one for the injectors. Just set the cam sensor and leave it . Do a fuel press leak test to make sure your injectors are not leaking , even if there new you never know.

hope this helps.

How do I do a leak down test.....i do notice extended crank(w/no fuel pressure)after it sits a while.....must crank for about 10-15 seconds before I get any pressure at the rail???

Check the fuel pump relay on the passenger side fender...If the relay goes bad, the oil pressure switch becomes the backup relay to start the car with and keep it running...Once it senses enough oil pressure, it completes the fuel pump prime circuit allowing you to start the car...When the fuel pump relay goes bad, it takes longer to start the car...

As for leak-down procedure, I think there is one on the gnttype website somewhere... www.gnttype.org
