I have been having some problems getting my car running after the blown headgasket. Refreshened motor and now it runs rough and rich. I ordered a new 4" maf pipe with the sensor in it, but couldn't try it until I get an angle boss for the iac. I also got a new cam sensor cap, the one from Caspers with the light built in to set it. Put old maf back on and The new cam sensor cap and got a no start situation. Put the old cap back on and it runs, but rough. I called Caspers thinking the new cap was bad. He said that I probably had too much play in the shaft and it would push it up too high and not read on their cap. It did leave some marks on the top of the cap where it looked like it rubbed. I can move the shaft up and down possibly more than a 1/4 inch. He said that too much play in the shaft could cause it to run rough. Someone else told me that once the cap gets the first read to the computer to tell it where #1 cylinder is, then it will run from there. Tell me what you think.

John Spina knows his stuff. You could buy or borrow another cam sensor and see what happens. Everyone should have a spare anyway.

Thanks, I am looking for one as we speak. I am now realizing that I need one extra of everything. I didn't have another chip or computer to run any stock stuff.
