yeah but you'll play hell trying to find...

a way to mount it on an aluminum case. The one tool you have a hard time w/o is the low/rev center support remove/install tool, and of coarse a way to compress clutch springs.

If you have a worn out Front planetary and use one of the accumilator pistons, You can hold the output shaft in proper position to get the snap ring on. Just set the planetary on the floor with the splines up and set the accum. piston underneath it, set the tranny over top and drop your shaft in.

Kinda hard to explain, but works perfectly.

T HE BEST WAT TO CHECK REAR ENDPLAY IS TO BUILD THE WHOLE REAR SECTION OF THE TRANS ON THE BENCH UP TO THE SNAP RING AND MEASURE IT WITH A FEELER GAGE UNDER THE SNAP RING .THEN ADJUST ACCORDINGLY .NO TOOLS REQUIRED EXEPT A FEELER GAGE .THE FWD DRUM PLAY SHOULD BE MEASURED W/ NO CLUTCHES IN THE DRUMS OTHERWISE A GOOD PROPER READING IS PRACTICLY IMPOSSIBLE www.ckperformance.com

Thank you all very much!

Mark, I was not planning on using the magnetic base. I was thinking about threading the end of one of the rods and screwing it to one of the available threaded holes in the trans case and or using a clamp.

Hey Chris, neat idea.
About checking the fwd drum with no clutches in place; can this also be checked using the feeler gauge technique - I'm asking not even knowing if this part is even contained by a ring that is accessible with a feeler gauge.
