Look at my signature below and help me select the correct stall convert.

I have a Ramcharger 2600-2800 (Red) in the garage, but I may want to move up to a 2800-3000 stall.

I only have a TA-49 turbo and I may go slightly larger later. I am currently running 12.20s @ 112mph. Convert should give me 11's.

Any help would be great.

I went 11.70s with less of a combo as you have, that was with a stock D5 convertor[49,blues,MJ int] Bruces[WE4] 9/11 is on its way for me,I`ll let you know the diffrence it makes. The only reason I`m changing convertors is a bigger turbo and injector upgrade.

With my trap speed (112.77mph), I should be good for high 11s. I am doing this on Nittos (1.8 - 1.9 60ft). I have 10.5" slick but I want an 11 with the Nittos (Street trim).

I could also upgrade my rear brakes and add a line lock. I'm only leaving with 4# of boost.

I think you should concentraste on 60ft times. I went 1.57 on BFG drag radials with a stock original convertor. I know Nittos don't hook as well as the BFG's but you still should get in the 1.6's with a stock convertor.

Try inexpensive mods like removing the front sway bar and adding drag shocks, an air bag and a pinion snubber to get the car to hook and you will be in the 11's for sure!

With a TA 49 (.63 AR?), a stock lockup converter should be fine! I had Jimmy put in a Precision 2800 9 1/2" convertor and I still have not matched my old stock converter 60 ft time! Paul

28" tires should give you 11's. Replace the 275/50's with 275/60's and you will run 11's. No need for a converter.

Unless you buy an expensive converter, with a good lock up, you MPH will go down.

28" Tires

I have heard this several times. I think that 28" tire may be the ticket because I am hitting the traps at 112mph and the rpm are screaming at 5300!!

PS
How much boost can U hold with a stock D5 and good brake mods (and a line lock for burnouts)? I'm only holding 3-4# now with 1.8 - 1.9 60ft.

When I leave my boost is about 10 psi (last frame of turbolink with zero mph) and the first frame of the turbolink with any mph usually says 23-23 psi.

I get the boost around 5-6 PSI (or as much as the brakes will hold that day) and as the tree comes down I mash the gas to the floor. Then I release the brake. The rapid mashing slightly bogs the engine for fraction of a second, so the brakes hold a little more boost. It also spools the turbo so the instant the bog is gone you are at full boost.
