wanting to buy a higher stall converter for my car...combo is in my sig. ....
i currently have a borrowed pt51 on the car but thats a temporary thing until i get my stock turbo rebuilt ....(& yes i want my stocker on there, wanna see just how fast it will go before i upgrade)

anyways i was wanting a precision lockup & was thinking around a 3000 stall ...what one is the best bang for the buck ..& will the single disc hold up well, or should i get the 3 or 5 disc ?

& what about pats converters...opinions on those vs. the precision converters...
i really like buy quality and buying once ...even though i'm poor ...& pats converters are a little more in my price range... all opinions & suggestions are appreciated TIA!!!:)

Of the 2 you mentioned the Precision would be the far better choice.
If your future goals for a turbo are a PT61-57 or smaller, or a BB67 the Precision will work nicely with your combo.

But, with a stocker, I would just use a 2600-2800 restalled stock converter and call it a day. The 12in will do all you want.
The care "may" not feel as good with much more stall on the small turbo.

are you capable of this deed or who is a reputable source of having this done ?

Just shooting some numbers your way...

This is what my Precision single lock up 9.5" converter stalls on the dragstrip according to my XFI log. The part number is 239425. It's advertised as a 2800 stall.

RPM PSI
2550 0
2850 2.5
3000 5
3200 7.5
3500 10
3700 12.5
3900 15

are these footbrake/staging #'s or under accel. #'s

Those were foot braking with the e-brake applied. 15psi was when my foot hit the floor. MPH showed 0 on the log file.

i like those #'s..& i assume that its street manners are as good as everybody claims.. i'm lookin to get my car to leave as hard as possible... good 60 fts. are worth ET...thats part of what makes NHRA stock/super stockers so fast... there is little reason i shouldn't be able to daylight the tires...i want this thing to 60 ft all it can(with my combo)..
