Hello,
I need some advice on which torque converter to go with for my car.
I have alot of people telling me to go with the 9 inch art carr converter model 19930 non lockup. Im having the tranny gone threw by a shop that does alot of 200r4's for Gn's and ttypes. They will upgrade the clutches, band, etc. I just dont know if thats to much stall for the street. The mods i have on my car is its a 87 GN 53k miles. Cold air intake, THDP, 2 3/4 exhaust BG, chip, bigger fuel pump, and maybe a few other mods im missing. I plan on upgrading the turbo and intercooler down the rd.
Any help would be appreciated on what people know about these art carr converters. And if the stall wont be to much overkill for the street, cruising.

Thanks!

Converter

I have had a few different converters.
I have an Art Carr converter now.
The stall is too high though (around 3900)
I am switching to a Pat's Converter.

They are good units and reasonable!
I am going with a 3000-3200 stall converter.
Art Carr's are great units just pricey.
It all depends on your budget!!!
I also have a used orange stripe converter available.
I would sell it for around 175.00 plus shipping.
It is supposed to stall around 3000.
Let me know if you are interested!
Good Luck.

That is sweet. What converter is that and how much did it cost?
