Well it is time for me to chose and purchase a torque converter for my new setup next year.

Basicly the setup is a stock bottom end, champ ported irons, fmic, DBB6776RS and stock 200R4

Questions are basicly what stall? Most things I have read say 3200-3400

Second question: What brand would you go with.

Looking at the Pro torque from cottons, Pats 10" lockup, or Vigilante 9.5 single disc billet lock up converter. Now the price is $400/$500/$700

What would you go with and if you have any other ideas that would be good too.

Any suggestions would help.

Thanks in advance!

I am normally not a fan of the Vigilante converter.
But, with the DBB 67, it is a very nice match. 0 pump.

I have a PTC 10" 3300 Lock-up that works very well with the BB67. You can look up 87NAT and Turbo 6 here on the board who are running this same combo. Price is $550 shipped to you.

PTC is Performance Torque Converters out of Alabama. Our Twisted 6 racing/ PTC 9.5 converter holds the TSM record and was the converter that put Dave Fiscus into the 8.30's at near 170. We have a line of 10" single disk lock-ups for the daily driver or street strip type car.

re conv

i have pro torque conv. joe stands by his product 100% and is a great guy

I will be getting one of these soon as well.
They seem to be working quite well from what I have heard.

Thanks for the help guys. I will do some more research on the ptc converter and should be talking to you early next month about ordering one. You stock them correct.

The converters aren't kept in stock. The parts are on the shelf and ready for assembly but each converter is built to the car it's going in. Build time is generally 3-5 days.

Dusty is the man, if you go with him you will be happy.

My Protorque 3200 LU works great on the daily driver with a DBB turbo.

It would be an excellent choice also. :)

torque converter

pro torque is a converter, but i have been running a Art Carr 3000 stall speed lock up converter. I think it is one of the best out there.

PTC is the best Muscle Shoals , Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

re

if you by a pro torque conv. you get 1 adjustment to make more or less stall
