Does the coolant temperature have to reach a certain temperature before ECU commands the torque converter to lock up? Is there any other parameters besides gear and speed that must be met to lock the torque converter?

I believe most older GM's (80's & '90's) are around 150 deg.
I don't think the temp is chip specific, but may be. I know the MPH they lock and unlock is.
