I'm going to have the opportunity to go with a different TC when the trans is done.
I only plan on getting the car into the mid-high 11's. I'll probably go to a TA49 or TA51 at some point, and run a bigger IC (or at least a big neck). The car is street driven and raced on weekends. It's not a daily driver.
Should I upgrade from the OEM TC?
What stall is recommended?
Lockup or non-lockup? What is the major difference? Is there a benefit to running a non-lockup TC and simply locking it in 3rd gear as I am now? Will a lockup TC shorten the tranny/TC life?

Look at the Art Carr converter. A non l/u creates more heat compared to the l/u. If you do highway driving go with a l/u. As for the stall a 2800 to 3200 should do well. Look for a 9 or 10 inch. Even 11 inch will be good.
