If you are attempting to torque a bolt that requires 2-36" extensions (1/2 dr) for reach to 70.0 ft lbs, would the final torque be accurate assuming full engagement of the bolt head with a 6 pt socket?

I don't see why not.

(Is this a trick question???)

Torque can be transmitted through a mile long shaft, let alone 2 X 36" extensions.

Torque is torque...

:)

I have an idea - maybe you can torque a lug nut to X using 2 X 36" extensions, then check the torque using a single, short extension. I'll bet it's the same.

Just a thought...

What if the 2-36" extentions were made of cheap metal and flexed. Would it be still be 70 lbs?
