Anyone know if the torque spec is in print ,for the oncenter stage II motor(side bolted mains)?
The Buick power source book was printed before these blocks were around.
Thanks
Austin
Arp has a chart for torque based on the bolt size and thread pitch, and of coarse what lube you use on the threads. should get you close. let me know what size and thread pitch and I will look it up .I;d guess 45 to 50 ft lbs w/oil
I took a look in a couple of the books I have and couldn't find it either. I would bet that two or three of our regular posters who're experienced at this would know, though...
The stage 2 side bolts on #1 and 4 main is 60 ft/lb. BE SURE to seal w. some silicone as they WILL leak past the shank on the bolts!!! I use ARP lube/ sealant.
Thanks guys on the input, for the torque spec..
I am gathering parts to reassemble the motor.Nothing hurt! Just had to see what some 145mph passes had done.
