Torque spec?

What is the torque spec for the valve body on the 200?

and you should see the fancy (expensive) torque wrench he uses too. You would see just how critical it is!

120c inch lbs is correct .also after torquing bolts in sequence from the center out it is also good practice to loosen them and retorque a second time after 20 minutes.youll be surprised how much more the bolts crank up .also we test all our transmissions in a car before we ship and we remove the pan and retorque the bolts while hot before pulling trans down to ship.once again youd be surprised .it is also good practice to do this when servicinfg fluid and filter.

What symptoms might be indicitive of those bolts being too tight or loose? Is that valve body gasket re-usable??

BTW, what does that torque spec convert to in foot pounds?

Where's your sign?

Since there are 12 in. per foot; 120 in-lbs = 10 ft-lbs.

But that is too low on any ft-lb torque wrench I've ever seen to be considered accurate or reliable. Beg, borrow, or buy a torque wrench with no more than 300 in-lbs to do this correcly.

If time is not an issue try eBay. I've seen several brand name TWs go very cheap--not Snap-On, though.

The bolts being too tight can cause valves to stick causing several problems and too lose leaks and thus the same problems. It's rare that the gaskets don't stick and tear, but even if the don't I wouldn't re-use them, too risky for the price and trouble.
