After doing the TPI swap I've been running into lock up problems. The trans is locking up at about 30 mph or after shifting into 3rd. I'm assuming it has to do with the pressure switch, but I'm not really sure. I checked the wiring in the trans and everything seems to go to the correct places. BTW, the trans is a 2004R with a CZF valve body. What can I do to get this thing to lcok up correctly? Thanks.

A little more info...

What kinda car? did you change ECM/chip? how did it work before?

Sorry about the lack of details. It's an 86 Cutlass with an 87 Camaro TPI setup. The lock up didn't work before because of all the computer stuff being pulled out. I looked through the wiring diagram for the camaro and checked with everything inside of the tranny and all appeared to be connected correctly. I've heard that some trannys use a normally open switch and some use a normally closed switch, so I was wondering if that might be the problem. Any ideas?

If you're controlling the lock-up with the Camaro ECM, you'll have to rearrange the internal harness in the 200-4R to match the Camaro's former 700-R4. There are considerable differences there, the pressure switch types being one of them.

When I was inside the tranny to replace the TCC solenoid I checked the wires (3). The power, ground, and pressure switch all matched up with the correct wires from the Camaro harness. Am I missing a wiring problem or is it just a pressure switch problem? Where can I get a pressure switch at?

Thanks for the link. I'd read through that thread before, but I think I picked up a little extra there. The only thing that I can think is the wrong is the pressure switch. Anybody know where I can get one? I checked at the local parts places and they don't have anything, and neither do the online places. Dealer I guess?

Your VSS is probly incorrect, meaning the ecm thinks your doing 36+ mph when your really doing 30mph , which then locks the converter up. You may want to look into that as a possible problem also.
