I thought I would do a little better...but its not that easy...
I did a total of 5 runs.....
3 runs were 13.0 @107 60 ft 2.0-2.1
2 runs were 12.9 @107 60ft 2.0

the funny things is every single run i was adjusting stuff ...opened up the exhaust on one run... no change.....
and I actually did one run with 29-30 psi by accident...no knock but the same times.....
And tried one run with 23 psi... same.....
the other runs were at about 24-25 psi... the car felt good.... but I want more......
I know i need to get better 60ft times......
I was running 93 pump gas and two stage alky 100% denatured... stage one has a #20 jet and stage two has a #21 jet....

Heres a question for the alky experts....
would a chip made for "alky" be worth the money...
I am not exactly sure what chip i have... but i would think its a low timing chip because i can run 17-19 psi with no knock without the alky....
Also I was talking with a fellow buick owner at the track, and we were talking about exhaust systems...I have a single 3 inch with a flowmaster muffler.... he said my flowmaster could be holding me back alittle. what do you guys think ?????

More timing prolly wouldn't hurt ya. :)

EGT for tuning along with direct scan helps too.

A 100 octane chip or someones custom alky. chip would be my next step and you should be able to run similar boost but of course start lower and work your way up while testing.

Drag racing ain't easy as I found out. :eek:
 
I don't kow what your mods are, but you must have a lot left in that combination to be able to run 29 psi without knock! The ability to do that tells me you must be pouring the alchy in there..:)

Gotta back up SalvageV6 on this one. EGT meter is good to have, and an alchy chip will almost defifitely get you a few tenths.

Gees all that alchy pouring in and you still got high 12's? Man I think you are going to be in the low 12's pretty soon!

alky chip...??

I have been reading around, and still i am undecided on what alky chip to buy....
Has anyone tried to run a full race chip and just turn the boost down with alky ... and still get good results.....I want to hear if anyone has tried it before i do .... : )
 
I run a KB hot flash chip all the time in my daily driver. It has around 30 degrees or so of timing. I could only run 9-11 psi before the alky. Even at this low level of boost I still got knock. I put the alky kit on and got as high as 18 psi with no knock. I only had it on for a week or two before my car started making a rattling noise so I didn't have time to tune it to the max. I like the high timing, low boost because the timing will help you spool up a little quicker. Also, you don't have as much pressure in the tubes to make them blow off. I have the regular worm drive type clamps and they are struggling to hold 18 psi.
 
stock turbo

I am running a stock turbo and intercooler... no i did not lock the converter .... no sure if my chip does or not.... going to take it for a test drive as soon as it stops raining here in st louis...and watch the otc 2000 and see if the tcc is locking going into 3rd gear... i have read the past couple of days that locking the converter is good for a couple of mph.... : )


##### any others with race chip and lower boosts... with the alky...... need more ideas ...
oh yes.. i might add.... installed the new hooker exhaust with the aero chamber mufflers.... LOVE THE SYSTEM.... sounds good and flows great.....
had the boost adjusted with a single shot and a flow master at 24 psi.... took the car for a test drive with the new exhaust ... 26-27 psi... i did not touch anything.... wow...
"also i might add.... I LOVE MY ALKY TOO... 27 psi NO KNOCK.. : )
MAN OHHH MAN...I WISH I WOULD HAVE PUT THE ALKY ON A LONGGGGG TIME AGO....
