Gentlemen,
Have you found that running by Tractor Hydraulic / Transmission fluid your tranny temps are up? I could swear my gauge is reading 10 degrees hotter, any others? - BB

The tractor fluid did not work well for me in my GN. It seemed to of effected my stall speed and made my pump wine. However it works good in my wife's Grand Prix GTP. Her car has 200,000 plus miles on it, original trans. It would shift horrible and take it a month of Sundays to go into gear before the Trac Fluid. It now shifts much better and only takes about one half of a month of Sundays to go into gear. I believe that the Track Fluid increases line pressure. I don't know about heat through.

i have not seen any benefits of using it but i have done some work in the kitchen with it and i dont like the viscosity it yields at 200 plus degrees.i like to use ford type f and motor oil blends for a consistent viscosity and pressure yield at a wide spectrum of temperatures.www.ckperformance.com

We have been here before

ok first of all here are the benefits.:

1) More anti foaming qualities

2) flash point raises to 484 from 375 with straight atf (Even synthetics)

3) better lubricating qualities.

4) Holds viscosity much better under heat loads.

5) will pressurize more consistantly especially under higher pressure.

6) Higher in detergents than ANY ATF

Here are the negatives:
NONE!

As for your whine, That may be possible if trans is cold and you run it straight. We mix it 70/30 to atf. As for running hotter.....NO way! Cooler if anything at all. We noticed IN A LAB, NOT THE KITCHEN... that it actually ran cooler with same load and wear factors applied as atf did in the CONTROLLED TEST! Pressure variance was no more than 10 psi at 200 degrees. ATF was anywhere from 20-50!

Anything that is c-4 allison rated or better you cannot go wrong.
Chris.... get the hell out of the kitchen and go back downstairs and build :D LOL

But what do I know? LOL

Damn, now i'm hungry!!!

What's for dinner Chris? Just do not expect a tip! We only tip the "pretty" ones! ROFL

Chris? Overnight me 25lbs of steamer clams. They wouldn't know a good clam out here if you hit them in the face with it. !!!
Man, I miss them!!:D

I am new here so tell me if I got this right. I am getting ready to change Transmission Fluid. I should run Mobil 424 at 70% and then a regular Trans Fluid at 30%. Is there a certain regular trans fluid that is preferred in the mix? According to the Chiltons the tranny holds 7pts so it would be 5pts 424 and 2pts regular?

Thanks,
Ken

Sure, that will work. Any NAME BRAND DeXTRONII

Thanks, I have been around cars for quite a few years and never heard of this. Would it work in the Bonneville since it is supercharged or is it more by the transmission that is in the car?

Thanks,
Ken
