you have a good answer
first sell the hooker system to jswmotor. take that money and find a a good mechanic in Mass. there are plenty and it doesn't matter what their specialty is (however GM preferred). buy some 3" pipe (you can even buy chromed if you like) at any place the sells the stuff including some of the big trucks parts places - their prices seem the best. you need a few feet of straight length and one curved piece (135 degree is nice) and if you want you can add a shorty 90 degree turn-down or special shape for the end. run the new exhaust straight back from the downpipe, add the curve to bring it out past the door openng and angle cut or tip it on the end. idle will sound great - lots of meaty sound, part throtlle will have agreat turbo sound depending on the turbo size and WOT will let others know your are serious. on a lift with welder should take less than one hour. there are plenty of places to attach a brace or two on the frame. it won't have the Monte Carlo dual exhaust look in the back (that some love) and it won't have the stock buick look behind the wheels but it will free up the exhaust loud and clear. it should be cheaper so sorry to any vendors who sell after-market exhaust systems.
