hey can anyone help me with this. i just installed a temp gauge..... i installed it if youre sitting in the car it would be on your right just above the oil pan on the trans i saw an enclosed port & put it there its right behind the trans input & output lines i seem to believe now that its a pressure port for pressure readings i think but is it ok to leave it there i also have a pressure port on the opposite side up higher i left that one alone. my question is will it hurt anything by leaving it where i have it now? any comments appreciative even if its constructive criticism:D

I have mine hooked up in the same port for over ten years with no problems, but I am not a Trans. expert by any means. What do "WE4" and "brian" think?

Bruce told me a few years back, to Tee it into the cooler return line which is the top trans line. He had his reasons. I Had it there until I swapped out for a TH400 this fall. Brian

Thanks for responding guys if you had it for ten yrs in the same spot youre safe to say that that does work ok.... i think on bruce's on the oil return connection for the tee if you look at his site under online accessories the tee instruction says connect it to the bottom line instead of the top.. i would have to do a few changes as i have mine in that pressure port as of now & was just wondering since i already have it there would it hurt anything to leave it ive gotta try to get some motor mounts in by saturday its raining here in south GA.... i think the 10 yr test is ok by me thanks for responding both of you..

It's not a matter of whether the location will work, but whether the readings are accurate. The return line from the cooler is what Bruce suggests. Thought it was the top line from the radiator. Brian

oh yeah i forgot about that that is another good point fuelie, right now by it being cold down here im reading it now once warmed up being down town once i get back home its at 125deg. so far on a cold short trip down town it goes to a 100deg. i guess this summer will tell the tell.
