Tranny acts up when car is warm???

Hello-

I have a 1987 Grand National with only 31k original miles on it.
The transmission shifts very strongly however when the car is driven for more than about 20 minutes the transmisin starts acting up.

It seems to have trouble down shifting when it should and acts very bawlky when I try to accelerate and I am in too high of a gear.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
