hey, my tranny (2004R) keeps coming out of gear...I smelled the tranny fluid and although it is the right level, it smells burnt. This didnt start to happen until I took it in to have the converter simply looked at by AAMCO because I still think they didnt put the stock D5 back in it. I havent checked the line pressure and I dont have anything to check it with anyways, but if anyone can tell me what the problem is then Id appreciate it. Oh, and by the way, AAMCO rebuilt that SAME tranny 12,000 miles ago!

That's your number 1 problem.

Hey Chris718, I appreciate your reply. When I first got the car I didnt know any better. It needed a rebuild because it wouldnt go in reverse. Me being out of the loop because me and my unit just redeployed from Iraq, I simply didnt even know there was anyone around here that owned a turbo regal, so I had to go off the advice from some guy I thought was kinda smart and owned a garage (buisness) Now that I know better, I do feel stupid for that mistake. Without having to go into further details, Ill leave it that. But, you wouldnt happen to know anyone reputable in the TX area that I can rely on for a good tranny rebuild. I know a guy in Austin that really knows his stuff, and I was gonna go through him. He owns a buisness, "Regal Performance" and Ive never had any problems with his service. If you may have a better suggestion, hit me up....Im still kinda on the learning curve. Thanks!

I would do a pressure check.

either it has a pump problem, or a forward clutch is losing feed, bad sealing ring, piston, etc..

If it is full of fluid, and filter is not clogged, it'll probably be coming out....
