I purchased my car back in august and im getting a tranny flush/filter on friday.

Is there a specific fluid that i should have the shop use?

Also besides the filter change is there anything else to have the shop look at adjust or replace?

Thanks for your time in advance

When was the last time it was serviced? A few months ago I changed fluid on my 17,000 mile GN and it started slipping the next day I drove it. I had bought it last year and had no history if or when it was ever serviced. Prior to that it shifted awesome. I was told by several builders that the detergency in the new fluid is not good for an old trans regardless of miles. I'm no expert but if it's working good right now I would leave it!

I have heard of that a few times not to change trans fuild on older cars if you don't have to. i have a 87 gn with 70k that was parked for years shifts good fuild looks clean don't know if i should change it or not lets here some other opinions.

I agree, if it's shifting good leave it alone. Flushing can dislodge deposits that can cause valves to stick/bind. If you have to do anything, only replace the filter & fluid that's lost while doing that. This will somewhat delute the Detergent level of the new fluid.

Tranny...

Hmm all good points...

However i booked the apt already and he made room to get me in on friday and now i hate to cancel...

Perhaps he can drop my pan and take a look around replace my filter and put back in my fluid?

Thanks for your thoughts i appreciate your time
