I would like opinions on where y'all have located your tranny temp gauge sending unit??? I'm considering the pan, but have been told that there is a provision on the side of the tranny that's threded in 1/8 pipe already. Will this side location give an accurate temp of actual fluid temp, or is this post or pre oil cooler?

You want to measure it at...

The return cooler line (bottom). Very easy to do. Install a 1/4 pipe tee , male on run , female on branch , and female on other run. Cooler fitting will screw into and line continues on. Branch goes to gauge. Male pipe screws into case. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO MEASURE AT. Pressure tap is stagnent. Bottom af pan is inaccurate as to heat, and actual temp. Hope this helps....:)
