ive been looking into picking up a new transmission for my gn(old one has long since been giving me problems).and was wondering what was out there in the way of modded 200R-4's for sale in texas...if you have one and are willing to get rid of it please PM me. thanks. cam

Since your in the Houston area check with Mike Kurtz at Century Transmissions, he may have what you are looking for.

Mike Kurtz's trannies are pretty awesome. He only builds them one way whether its for a 13 sec street car or 9 sec race car. I think mine was about $1300.

Lots of factors ,but......
$1300 will not buy you a dependable 10 second 200-4R. Doubt you could run mid 11s for very long.
I know Mike's 10 second trannies are well over 2 grand.

Erik is correct in that you should not spend over 2 grand for a 15 SECOND 200-4R. All depends on how fast you want to go with the tranny.


Not trying to scare anyone from using Mike, but lets be clear about Mike building 10 second 200-4Rs.
I have had Mike rebuild mine 3 times over the last 10 years (Any tranny will wear out). I was satisfied with Mike's tranny work for sure. However, the last estimate for a 200-4R rebuild "built one way" that I received from Mike several years ago was well over $2000.
Of course I am running 10s and I needed the works.

Mike's rebuild is $1700 on the bench. And that's minus the billet pieces.
