If I didn't want to spend the money now and needed to get it going. I would replace the input and output shaft seals and hope for the best. Rebuilding will cost alot more than a couple of seals and free labor. Maybe one of the experts will chime in. Come on guys I want to know too.

If all the openings were sealed good you'll probably be ok. If not I'd drop the pan and see what kind of critters have found a new home. Clean any spiders/bugs out etc. Change F&R seals too. Maybe pour some trans fluid down into it to rewet the clutch frictions while it's upside down with the pan off.
