That is the question:cool: I am just trying to get an idea of which is better. Most seem to be of the opinion that T brake is better but my question is does it put alot of strain on the trans...Not sure if a line lock is worth the time or trouble if still using stock braking system. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has used one or the other

They serve completely different functions.

Line lock to lock the front tires for burnouts. The front tires cannot hold you on the line.

Trans brake to lock the driveline so you can build all the torque and rpm on the start line that the car can handle during launch.

How hard is a trans brake on a transmission. I am thinking about getting one when Brian Hofer rebuilds mine?

Depends on how hard you plan to launch...plus how was the trans built...I regularly did 15-18 PSI transbrake launches on a built trans for over 3 years...tranny was still going strong when I took it out...

Hard on tranny parts, hard on driveline parts from the tranny all the way through the 3rd member.
Almost everything in the driveline needs to be beefed a little to withstand more than a few transbrake launches.

Thanks alot guys.. What are the main areas of concern? I have a billet forward drum, servo heavy duty clutches, Art Carr shift kit, 9 1/2 convertor, high volume pump and deeper pan. Trying to get an idea if it is a good option.
