should i get a trans brake or not. tranny guy really doesnt want to put one in but if i want one he will.

Hell ya! Most fun you can have in a TR (next to getting laid in the back seat). It is hard on the trans...but that is why people like Bruce Toelle offer the billet parts. If you don't launch real hard, real frequently, you may be surprised how long the trans holds up (or doesn't, if it wasn't rebuilt properly).
