I want to run a tranny cooler on my 87 GN. I was looking at the B&M Super cooler #70266. It is 8 x 11 x 1.5 inches. It has 1/2 inch threads on each end. I was going to use Aeroquip 1/2 to -6 adapters and -6 Aeroquip hose with 3/8 to -6 couplers to connect to the stock lines. I had not yet decided on where I was going to place it. Does this sound like a good combination for tranny long life?

Also with the fluid flow, which is more ideal. To have the fluid enter the air cooler before the factory cooler in the rad or after the factory cooler. In the cold country we always put the air cooler as the first order of flow so the rad fluid could warm up the fluid in the winter months. However I live in California now so I wasn't sure which would be more ideal.

I was also looking around at other posts about reliability. What is the best pan/filter combination overall? I will run the car at the track once in a blue moon but I want everything to be tough and reliable so I can get rough with it when I want to and not worry.

Thanks for the input!

Scott, run your cooler after the radiator. You get better cooling thru the radiator first.

Great, thanks! Does it sound like I chose the right parts combo? Should I just mount the cooler to the front of the condenser? I have seen some people stick them in the right fender and use a duct and 2 small fans. Just wondering what is the best overall for packaging and performance.

Depends on how hard you run it, but the size sounds good. Should give you plenty of cooling.
