I have a B&M Supercooler. Is it best to run the trans cooler in-line with the cooler in the radiator or as stand-alone?

what supercooler do you have? what part #? i have the B&M 70297 - B&M Hi-Tek SuperCoolers with Fan and it can be run by it self. now prior to that i had a smaller B&m cooler that i ran into the radiator as well. so its not going to hurt running it into the radiator for cooling. if you dont and just run the standalone cooler make sure you have a trans temp gauge and keep and eye on the temps.

im running one of the smaller 70268 coolers. but i will get a trans temp gauge and watch. I think thats best

Run it through both. The external won't be able to keep up alone in the summer under load.

So should I run it before or after the rad?

Do I even need the external if Im going to run it throught the radiator?

you dont need to but its a good choice to run an external cooler after the radiator.

Strange, I always thought they mounted in front of the rad (visible thru the grille)??

Ran mine inline with the rad..........thru the rad first then to the B&M ( easier to plumb that way )..........very rarely did I ever see the trans temp gauge come off the peg...........kept the tranny cool and I can say I never had a tranny problem other than normal wear and tear...........my good friend Rodney at RPM Transmissions told me that the biggest killer of trannys was heat so I went overboard to keep mine cool.........better safe than sorry......Good Luck.

bottom is the return...

the upper (top) fitting in the transmission case goes to the upper (top) port in the radiator, and the bottom radiator port goes to the bottom fitting in the transmission case.

if you are running an external cooler in-line with the radiator plumb in the external cooler between the bottom radiator port and the bottom (lower) trans case fitting.
