trans gear reading

my scanmaster reads when in park
N/P=drive
trans: 3rd
turbo bob was very helpful and gave me the following information
Park/Neutral switch is misadjusted and third gear switch is unhooked, missing, or defective (some trans guys leave them out)
Will this affect my tune in my 5.7 chip in any way?

If the chip is setup for extra timing in 1/2 and ecm doesn't know it changed to 3rd u might get spark knock in 3rd @ wot

I'll take it to my trans guy to get fixed. I just got the trans rebuilt last year and just now put the scanmaster in and noticed it.
