was the a difference in the 86-87 turbo car trans vs. non turbo cars, monte carlos, and hot air cars?

If so how can I tell if the 2004R I am looking at is from a 86-87 TR?

86 and 87 Turbo Regals have a BRF coded case and Valve Body while the Monet Carlo SS has a CZ

Think the HA cars are BQ
