Does anyone have a source and part number for a transmission pan drain plug? Thanks.

TCI have them.I went to my local tranny shop and he ordered it through his suppliers $5.:cool:I got tired of making a mess in the shop;)

Thanks. Yeah, I'm still trying to get fluid out of my hair. ;) Laying on cardboard with a pool of it around you is no fun. I even had two pans and managed to miss them both when I popped the seal on the gasket.

I know exactly how you feel. and I hate making a mess:rolleyes:

Napa...

You can get a drain plug and nut at NAPA if you're going to weld it in, the ones where you drill a hole in the pan and put a locking nut inside the pan stick up too high inside and they often leak. The set at NAPA is around $5 and you don't have to pay shipping.

hello: IMO nows the time for a deeper pan. I'd still do the drain plug thing in the original but if you got to drop it why not.

I got one from summit for 5 bucks,it does not leak what do you mean it sticks up too high on the inside if you put it towards the back of the pan I don't think it makes contact with the filter

Put it in the back of the pan not in the bottom:)If you go to take the tranny out it will not sit on the jack good.It also might hit the filter on the bottom:rolleyes:I put it at the back of the pan on the flat part as low as I could.Hope this helps
