I finally installed the MPE intercooler with 3" neck, T-clamps and hoses and the boost hits 22-23 psi in a flash and the tires spin like mad in 1st and 2nd. The boost control issue I will address in another area because I can't get it below 22-23 psi.

Anyway, I notice that the engine rpms flare up going into 3rd gear. I would assume it's slipping. I know that the gentlemen from CKperformance is around so if you could PM me a price on all of the parts, seals etc I would need to rebuild it to handle 650+ hp, I would appreciate it. I would like to do it one time.

Thanks
Marc

Chris knows his stuff Marc and when he says dual feed the 2-3 direct clutches... it makes all the difference in the world on how much abuse they can take and still hold strong(at least in my case). Good luck with it

How is the dual feed attained? Dose it requie a machine shop tool or just a common hand drill?

I'm going to refresh my trans this winter and would like to modify to the dual feed if possible.

Thanks

I would also agree with Chris that dual feeding is the REAL fix for 3rd gear.
Same as a TH350 or 400...

Only problem is the stock forward drum on the 200-4R has problems when the directs are dual fed.

Obviously if you are doign 600+ HP you will be running the upgraded drum but for those of us right at the borderline, risking a stock drum, dual feeding is risky.

I had mine out today, and the directs have seen some heat so I replaced them, but still did not dual feed it since I'm using the stock drum.

If the directs go away again (I played with the calibration some more) I'm gonna dual feed it anyway, and see if the drum breaks :)

I actually recently adjusted the TV cable and now it's holding 3rd like a champ. I was fooling around with it months ago because the valve was stuck and never adjusted it back. Now it's shifting awesome and breaking the tires on the 1-2.

I will rebuild it in the spring since it will be in the garage until then . This will give me time to collect all of the parts I need. I'm sure if I use Raybestos Blue Specials throughout that 3rd(direct) will be able to take some abuse. I will call Chris when I have time after the holidays and order all of the parts. I'm finding that the tools and trans stand are costing me more money than the parts.
