How much should a typical 2004R rebuild cost? I know it is a very open Q. I need a street trans not a race trans. I have seen several vendors on Ebays that list entire trans at $550. Are they different than a GN built trans? If I was to take mine out and ship it off how long would the turn around be.

$550 for a rebuilt trans off E-bay is like buying a pig in a poke. Probably be nothing but headaches.

That is what i thought but i was looking for a answer this weekend on prices.

we charge 1399 for stage 1 and 1999 for stage 2 ,you would fall under the stage 1 category.we also do them as heavy duty stock for 999,but this doesnt include our 4340 shaft forward drum.all units are tested in a vehicle prior to shipment and have 6 month warrantee.a 500 dollar rebuild will more often than not be a sourc e of hair pulling.stick with the people who know this trans well,you wont be sorry.
