Car was running and driving perfect Saturday when I took it down to the Telegraph cruise, Sunday morning went and got it out of storage and drove it home ( about 5 miles ) went inside for about an hour then left to do some Sunday morning cruising and car wouldn't go into second gear ! Any ideas ? Reverse still works, no weird noises from the trans, fluid full and red.

It possibly tossed the governor spring which does happen. How fast did you go in first in an attempt to get it to shift?

Maybe 30-35 tops had just pulled out of the driveway and when it didn't shift I turned back around and parked it

You probably should drop the pan and check the governor first, especially since that's the easiest thing to check in there. If it's intact with the spring in place then the next likely culprit is a sticking throttle valve or 1-2 shift valve in the valve body.

Ok thanks. Any ideas on where I can find information on how to do this or schematics so I can locate the parts. I really want to try and fix this myself if it's not to involved, I know if I take it to a shop they will tell me it needs a rebuild.

Start looking here: Transmission

Buying a factory service manual is always a good idea when you're looking to do your own work (which is highly commendable).

Thanks again for the help. Gonna mess around with it this weekend or later this week, will keep you posted.
