translater plus & extender chip

I have a basically stock car and was wondering if I could use the trans plus and extender chip or if I had to do more mods first? TIA

I'm running the Translator+ and the Extender Chip. Well I was before I set the car up for my smog test. I'll be putting the mods back on soon.
