Translator/chip question

My setup right now includes 3" lt1 maf with a translator while running red's 93 chip. my question is: is it worth it to go to the extender chip if i don't have a translator +? My car seems to run really well though i was just wodering if there is alot to gain by going with the extender chip with just a translator.

You should be okay i have used Reds with Trans 3" and 3.5". Extreme chip
gives more flexibility with Trans+.

The extender chip has some neat features..... might not make any additional power if your current chip has a good tune..... but the lean cruise is neat.....and the lock-up adjustability is cool for playing with locking the converter up at different speeds at the track. If you are running lots of boost ... or ported heads... big turbo... etc. .... the extender feature will give you the ability to read over 500 gm/sec instead of the 255 gm/sec factory setup...... kinda neat......

The bottom line is if your current chip has your car in good tune.....the extender might not make any additional power..... I like fiddling with the neat features though..... :biggrin:

The chip part has nothing to do with translator or translator plus. The only difference there is that the plus adds timing control which has nothing to do with the chip. The extender chip has much better control of fueling and the fact that the ecm is no longer bound by the 255 gr/sec maf limit is a large advantage. By a chip if you are not happy I send itback and i wil refund your money
