I had to purchased a couple of used parts from people on these forums, thanks to the loss of my American job to some foreign co.(+I'm 50 yrs old).
one was a lt1 maf from a caprice, the other a translator. Both parts I'm happy with,no problems there. The translator was a translator + (which i didn't know it was the + model until it arrived)
The problem is i had to download the instructions from full throttle for the tran+. First off about all I can deal with is D size batteries on I good day. Some how i have been able to wire a couple of things into my HA. Back to my problem.
In the downloaded instructions for the trans+ it talks about a plug and play adapter-my saving grace in any elec. install. I cant find one thru all my searches OR i have no idea what part this is, and where to buy one.
Plus it has 3 pigtails-one for spark connection to EST signal wire???
The y-blk-pink wires plug into the new maf just fine. The g-blk-pink does not fit the GN plug at all. Mind you this is stock 84 maf plug that fit the 87 maf just fine. The plastic plugs are a different size/shape.
Q: do I NEED the spark signal wires if I'm going to be running NEW from TT 60lbs inj. + 6.0 chip? I still want some plug and play harness. I hate cutting & soldering wires I'm not positive about
I looked at FT,& Casper's for a new pigtail. Every thing has been converted to 87,cil,mod,ecm.
I just need the trans + to fit myorg maf plug from the car. Help
Mart Urbanski:confused:

the smaller plug end is for use on camaros and such that had an lt1 maf , you can get an adapter from full throttle to allow you to plug the T+ right into the maf connector end on your harness , i dont beleive they list it on the webpage .. call mike or marianne at fullthrottlespeed
without the adapter you could splice it in (red to pink - power) (blk to black- ground) (green to gray- maf signal)

the EST splice is if you want to use the timing features of the T+ (thats what the plus is ) , you dont need to connect it at all .. besides the spark features dont work well without the bailey chips , if you have a turbotweak chip you can vary the timing in the chip , if you arent familiar with tuning you really shouldnt be messing with the timing anyway .

for TT chip the translator settings need to be set properly
set the maf input dial to match your MAF sensor , set all other dials others to base "0" or no change , set the dip switches to on /on/ on/ OFF

Trans+ adaptor

Boost231 & Eric from TT were teaching me to tune and understand my WB readings >http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/scan-tool-tech/322254-am-i-cetting-closer-my.html
That's when i blew the Maf completely in half . http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/general-turbo-buick-tech/323954-blew-my-maf-apart-unglued.html
whichledmeto getting the lt1 maf & translater.
I got the maft+ from someone on this board, I didn't know it was the plus model so that extra pigtail threw me. Looking at full throttle's & casper's sites I didn't find a cable describing what i needed.
I don't and never did have any plans on playing with the timing until I understood the fuel/alky tuning completely.
I thought i could do the fuel & timing through the chip, but never owning a translator before I thought i would ask. I only came in the mail late sat, and I was gone most of the day. Going to call FT first thing Monday morn.
Side note-i drove 120mi round trip fri to deliver a 84 coil & mod to a guy who bought his first turbo buick t-type. i was able to pass along a lot of info YOU folks taught me. We weren't able to get it fired yet,but stopped a lot of damage he might have done. This thing was the most org 85 engine I've ever seen outside of mine when new. couple little rust spots on lwr doors, clean int. It had been sitting for a bunch of years DOA. paid $300 for it.
Thanks,
Marty

t+ wiring

This is a pic of the T+ pigtail TOP
My org maf plug BOTTOM
So I would join
pink/w blk stripe to pink
bk/w gray stripe to blk
gray/ w red stripe to green
Correct??
I can design huge class A outer body stamping dies on high end CAD systems, but I can't figure 3 little wire out..........sad

Original wire- Pink/black goes to pink on new plug
- White/black/pink goes to green wire on new plug
- Black/gray goes to black

This is how my car is wired to a Translator which then plugs into the LT1 MAF

HA you guys are gret!

I don't know how I would have made it this far without this forum. I'm a better mechanic that a elect. tech. I was showing my log of when my MAF blew to a new guy. Thats when it dawned on me I hit 32# boost & 19.? KR with no ill effect on the engine I built and assembled. All that die building paid off.
I think I'll try to tune for 22# and leave it alone. Soon as i sell my darkroom,#60 inj & 6.0 TT chip.
