I've been working on the rustomod and finally got under her to look at the tag on the tranny. It was painted over with grey pant and a little carb cleaner made it easier to read. It's pink and the only letter on it is a G. Any idea of what I've got here? I have a feeling it's a rebuild because I cleaned more of it off and it's all grey painted.

Most likely an OG out of an Olds Cutlass Supreme

likely an OG as already stated. Check the actual stamped numbers on that tag and ignore the paint if its illegible. Somewhere in the middle is the calibration code and it probably has OG in that code.

Thanks guys. I'll have to crawl under her and take a closer look. Last night I was tired after cleaning the shop for the last 3 days and was just happy to be able to get the front off the ground finally.
