transmission issue, so I thought

All fixed. The downpipe was hitting the catalic converter and the thin piece of metal that protrudes half way up the floor pan near the heater box. I trimmed both and problem solved.

Now to install the alky kit and send it off for tuning.

The heat shield went past the pan.
Now there is a 1/4 or better space there. Works fine. It was the other upper piece that was banging.
