Transmission issues

Huge flare on shift from second to third when getting on it. When warm, it holds the first to second shift for a VERY long time when just speeding up normally from a light. Also is not downshifting properly when coming to a stop. I THINK the last two issues are due to a bad TCC...but the flare wouldn't be caused by that, I think...lol

Would replacing the TCC solenoid be a good start or should I just go straight to a rebuild?

Unplug TCC and go drive it. It will be normal again minus lockup if that's your issue.

Otherwise sounds like a band issue/direct clutches...rebuild. Rebuilt before?

Previous owner had it rebuilt by a Cottman's transmission shop up in Deleware. When you say unplug it you mean just the electrical portion inside the transmission pan?

Yes on the side of the pan ,left side.
